A QR code on the label turns each cut part into a link to its own page on your phone. You scan the sticker at the saw or the bench, and tick off the work stages as the piece moves on.

Switching it on

In the label preview open the Label format panel and tick QR code to the part’s page (saved project). The code is printed when all of this is true:

  • you are on a real Pro or Workshop plan;
  • the cut is saved to the cloud, and the plan on the screen is the plan that was saved — save after the optimizer has run;
  • the job is in 2D or 1D mode.

If something is missing the labels print exactly as without the QR, and a message tells you what: QR codes need the plan saved to the cloud first or could not be prepared. If you print again after changing the stages on the label, a message says when an earlier label had more stages than the new one — those circles no longer appear on the part page.

The QR switch is a label setting: it is saved with the label settings and presets and follows your signed-in account, so it is the same on every device. Each placed piece gets its own code, so two copies of a part have two different codes; a copy the optimizer could not place has none.

The part page

A scan opens a page with the part number (the one on the label), the name and size, which sheet or bar it comes from (with the material name), piece 2 of 4 on it, and the project and cut names. Under them are big buttons: Cut (2D) and the work stages printed on that label. One tap writes one record; tap again to take it back. A phone shows what the other phone ticked within 15 seconds.

The page needs you signed in: a guest is sent to the sign-in page and returned to the part afterwards. Only the plan’s owner and the active members of the team can open it.

Cut and the existing progress

The Cut button writes the same row that a tap on the piece in Shop mode writes, so the cutting progress you already use stays one record. The work-stage ticks are separate and are kept per piece and stage for that exact plan. If the plan has been optimised again and saved since the labels were printed, the page is read-only with a note: print new labels.

More on the label

A job with a furniture model can also print the place letter and a structure line on the label (for example Carcass · left), mark the visible edge, and add the Drilling line and marks from Hole and hardware marks. They are described with the other label options in Exports. The Engine API can print the same kind of QR from your own text.

FAQ

What do I need to print QR codes?
A real Pro or Workshop plan, a cut saved to the cloud, and the plan open on screen must be the plan that was saved (save after the run). Then switch on the QR option in the Label format panel. Without these the labels print as usual, without QR, and the app says why.
Who can open the part page?
Only people signed in as the owner of the plan or as an active member of the team. Anyone else gets the same Part not found page as for a code that does not exist. The pages are not indexed by search engines.
What happens if I optimise the plan again?
The labels you printed belong to the older plan. Its part pages become read-only with a note to print new labels, so nobody ticks a piece of a plan that no longer exists.
Do ticks on the phone show in the app?
The Cut button writes the same record as a tap in Shop mode, so the piece shows as cut there too. Two phones stay in step: a page reads again every 15 seconds and when you return to its tab.
