The CutOptim Configurator lets a shop that sells sheet material cut to measure put a cutting calculator into its own webshop. The customer types in the parts they need. The Configurator draws a cutting plan, shows the price as it changes, and sends a signed order to the shop. The shop decides the boards, the prices and the rules, and keeps its own cart, checkout and payment.
Available now. This section describes what is built and works today and states what does not. It lists no prices; they are on the pricing page. You can try the customer side without signing up in the live demo on the Configurator page; the demo runs on a fictional shop, its orders go nowhere and its prices are examples.
Who it is for
Board and panel merchants, timber yards, and glass and plastic sheet shops, that is, any shop where a customer says “cut this to these sizes”. If you cut panels for yourself, the CutOptim app is the tool. If other software of yours needs cutting plans with no screen, that is the Engine API.
What the customer does
- Chooses a board from your catalogue, or arrives with the board of the product page already chosen.
- Enters the parts, or starts from a furniture template.
- Sees the cutting plan and the price update. The price comes from your rules: price per full sheet, per square metre of parts with a waste percentage, per metre of cut, sheet plus cutting, or sheet plus a rate per part. Edge banding, machining, surcharges, a minimum order, customer groups, VAT, rounding, shipping zones, pickup and lead time are rules too.
- Orders. The order goes to your shop with a signed quote, and the customer can follow its status on a tracking page.
What the shop does
- Loads boards, edge banding, hardware and prices from a CSV or Excel file, or by hand.
- Sets the rules, texts in ten languages, units (mm, cm, inches), colours and fonts.
- Previews everything live, publishes, and can roll back to an earlier version.
- Embeds the Configurator on a page, as a pop-up, as a side panel or as its own page.
- Receives orders by signed webhook and by e-mail with a worksheet and labels, moves each order through its statuses, and downloads production files.
The next pages cover each part: the console, embedding, orders, delivery and tracking, the WooCommerce plug-in and custom platforms.
What works today, and what does not
Works today, and can be tried in a sandbox:
- The configurator with live plan and price for 2D panel cutting, in ten languages.
- Price rules, catalogue import, furniture templates, hardware and bonded panels, machining operations.
- Four embed modes, branding, saved projects, return to your shop’s cart.
- Signed order delivery by webhook and e-mail, an order console, a customer tracking page, seven production export formats.
- A WooCommerce plug-in (early access) and reference code for custom shops.
Not available, or not complete:
- Payment and shop hosting. CutOptim collects no payment and runs no shop.
- Other shop platforms. There is no Shopify plug-in. WooCommerce is the only platform plug-in, and it is early access; a custom shop uses the documented API and the reference code.
- Other cutting modes. Only 2D panels are orderable. Linear bars, timber and nesting are not.
- A public price list. Prices are not published on these pages.
- Templates in the embed. The customer-facing template picker shows the built-in templates; templates a shop writes in the console are not shown to customers in the embed yet.
- Two-factor enforcement for a whole shop. Two-factor sign-in is an option on each person’s own account; a shop cannot require it of its team yet.
- The console in your language. The console is in English. The customer-facing configurator is in ten languages.
