Furniture templates for your cut-to-size webshop

The CutOptim Configurator can start from a piece of furniture instead of an empty cut list. Your customer picks a cabinet, a shelf or a wardrobe and sets its size, and the parts, the cutting plan and the price follow. You decide which templates your shop offers and how far each size may go.

Quick answer

Furniture templates let a customer who has no cut list still order from you. They choose a piece, type its width, height and depth, and the configurator turns it into parts cut from your boards, priced by your rules. It is the same furniture geometry as the free CutOptim calculators, under your brand.

Five pieces to start from

The templates cover the pieces that cut-to-size customers ask for most. Each one builds a list of parts with sizes and quantities, which the cutting plan then uses.

  • — TV stand
  • — Bookshelf
  • — Wardrobe
  • — Kitchen base cabinet
  • — Box

From a sentence to an order

A customer rarely arrives with a cut list. They arrive with an alcove and a television.

  1. Choose and size

The customer picks a template and sets its width, height and depth within the ranges you allow.

  2. See what it means

A sketch of the piece is drawn from the same values, and the parts it needs appear as a cut list the customer can still edit.

  3. Plan, price, order

The parts go to the cutting plan on your board, the price comes from your rules, and the order is signed like any other.

You decide what is offered

Templates are part of your configuration, not fixed code. Switch templates on or off, and narrow a size range to what your boards and your workshop can handle. A range can be made tighter, never wider than the template can build.

  • — Show your own photos for each template and board.
  • — The hardware a piece needs is worked out and listed, without assuming anything about your catalogue.
  • — Open the configurator on the template step when your product page sells furniture, or keep it on the board step.

The same geometry as the free calculators

The templates use the furniture geometry of the CutOptim calculators, so a cabinet gives the same parts in the calculator your customers may already use and in your shop. The configurator adds your boards, your prices and the order.

What a template is not

A template is a starting point, not a design tool: it produces rectangular parts for a panel saw, and every part stays editable afterwards. A customer cannot ask for a piece the template cannot build.

CutOptim collects no payment and hosts no shop. Your sandbox shop is where you switch templates on and set the size ranges, before anything goes live.

Frequently asked questions

Which furniture templates are available?
Five: a TV stand, a bookshelf, a wardrobe, a kitchen base cabinet and a box. You choose which of them your shop offers.
Can I limit the sizes a customer can choose?
Yes. For each template you can narrow the range of every dimension, for example to the widths your boards can be cut to. A range can be made tighter but never wider than the template can build.
Are templates priced differently from a normal cut list?
No. A template only produces the parts. The cutting plan, the price rules, the edge banding and the machining are the same ones that price any other order.
Can the customer change the parts afterwards?
Yes. The template fills in a cut list, and the customer can still edit, add or remove parts before ordering.
Do the templates match the free calculators?
They use the same furniture geometry as the CutOptim calculators for the same pieces, so the parts agree. The calculator is a free tool for anyone; the configurator adds your boards, your prices and ordering.
